Terms of participation

Read all conditions carefully and confirm them finally.

By the registration of your FIRST® LEGO® League Junior team, you as the team coach agree with having read the following terms of participation and follow them. As a FIRST® LEGO® League Junior coach you are responsible to forward the tournament conditions to all team members, volunteer assistants as well as to further persons involved in the FIRST® LEGO® League Junior Team.

1. FIRST© LEGO© League Junior Coach

I note that each team has to appoint at least one adult coach (min. 18 years). He is the main contact and in charge of the team and co-coaches.

As HANDS on TECHNOLOGY e.V. would like to ensure the prosperity of the children taking part in FIRST® LEGO® League Junior, we reserve the right to have coaches and mentors checked by police.

I agree that I will be the person coaching the team during the whole FIRST® LEGO® League Junior season. If there will be a change and another coach taking over my position, HANDS on TECHNOLOGY e.V. has to be informed within the next 5 working days. To take over an existing team the new coach needs to confirm the terms of participation as well. If the coach does not contradict the terms of participation within 5 working days after taking over the team the terms are considered to be accepted.

2. Communication with HANDS on TECHNOLOGY e.V. via e-mail & website

I note that:

  • the communication within the FIRST® LEGO® League Junior program will be via email and the FIRST® LEGO® League Junior website. Therefore, I have to indicate a valid e-mail address for communication means with HANDS on TECHNOLOGY e.V.
  • the FIRST® LEGO® League Junior Newsletter provides important information about the current season.
  • my e-mail address can be passed on to other FIRST® LEGO® League Junior teams.
3. FIRST© LEGO© League Junior Team Number

I agree to use the given FIRST® LEGO® League Junior team number for each correspondence with HANDS on TECHNOLOGY e.V.

4. Team Composition

Hereby, I take note of the fact that each FIRST® LEGO® League Junior Team should consist of up to 6 children aged between 6 and 10. The deadline for the age restriction is the 1st of January of the year, when the tasks of the FLL Junior Challenge are published. According to that the age restriction deadline for 2019 is the 1st of January 2019.

No team member may be simultaneously registered in several teams.

I note that I have to register another team if the team consists of more than 6 children.

I can register several teams. All teams have to participate in the same exhibition region.

5. Shipping FIRST© LEGO© League Junior Inspire-Set

I take note that the FIRST® LEGO® League Junior Inspire-Set and the team documents will be sent at the beginning of August 2019 to the delivery address specified by me (only if the invoice is paid). If the FIRST® LEGO® League Junior Inspire-Set can’t be delivered (e.g. due to holiday time, wrong address, etc.), I agree that the new shipment will be charged on me. The Inspire-Set will be sent after payment.

6. Cancellation of team registration

I agree to inform HANDS on TECHNOLOGY e.V. as soon as possible if my team cannot take part in the exhibition. Teams need to be deregistered at HANDS on TECHNOLOGY e.V. Please give notice to HANDS on TECHNOLOGY e.V. immediately. Deregistration notices to FIRST® LEGO® League Junior Regional Partners only cannot be accepted. In case of the cancellation of the team’s registration no costs can be paid back.

I take note of the fact that there can be media coverage on the FIRST® LEGO® League Junior exhibition day, including print, radio and TV. Teams may be accompanied by journalists e.g. during the preparation period or a reporter follows the happenings of the exhibition by the example of a particular team. As a coach I am responsible for providing a photo permission for each team member of their legal guardian.
